Five people have been confirmed dead after armed bandits raided Taa village in Pandanguo area of Moa Sub location in Witu division,Lamu west district Monday night.
The attackers are said to have taken cover in the nearby Pandanguo forest after the killings.
The area chief, Kaviha Charo Karisa confirmed the number of casualties among them members from the Maasai community while the Area Assistant County Commissioner Benson Maisori said that police were pursuing the attackers.
The attacks come barely two weeks after another attack left at least 60 people dead in Mpeketoni which is about 40kms away, despite reassurance from the government security organs.
The cosmopolitan village is dominated by small-scale farmers from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
