Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat aspirant Abdirahman Ismail on Monday joined his fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in Nakuru in observing Eid-ul-fitr.


Eid-ul-fitr is marked by Muslims to signify the end of Holy Month of Ramadhan.

Abdirahman who spoke to this writer after the prayers held at Menengai High school grounds called on residents of Nakuru Town East and  Kenyans at large to ensure peace before, during and after the August 9 polls.

He noted that Islamic teachings call on all to be peace ambassadors adding that it is through peace that development can be realized in society.

“We all have a role to ensure a peaceful society even as we head to the general polls” said Abdirahman.

The youthful Abdirahman will be contesting the Nakuru Town East Parliamentary seat on United Democratic Movement (UDM) party.

Commonly know as Abdi among the locals, he believes in leadership that will see transformed society where youth, women and persons physically challenged have a ground to air their views and be empowered economically.

He will be battling it out with among others the incumbent David Gikaria of UDA, Joel Maina Kairu of Jubilee among others.
