4 Jul 2014

Nakuru county commissioner, Mohamed Birik has reported that the police have arrested 18 people suspected to be involved in the circulation of hate leaflets in the county.

He has also said police were on high alert while tracking down those creating unnecessary tension in the region and warned that those responsible for hate massages will not be spared.

Speaking after holding a security briefing in his office, he urged the communities leaving Naivasha and other parts of the county to stay since their security was guaranteed.

Birik said they had deployed security personnel in Molo and Naivasha towns to counter any social unrest that may arise after the Saba Saba rally. He also explained that subcounty administrators were holding barazas in the county to assure residents of their safety.
