Kitengela police cannot explain the disappearance of three wheels from a Star newspaper van recently involved in an accident.
The vehicle was towed to Kitengela police station soon after the accident that occurred on the Athi River-Namanga road, Kajiado, recently.
When the Star visited the station Tuesday afternoon some of the parts had been vandalised from the wreck. Police appeared perplexed at the disappearance.
Area OCS Joel Chepkwony said the case was being handled by Traffic base commander only identified as Mr Kemboi. Speaking on the phone, Kemboi said he assigned the duty of taking care of the accident van to an officer only identified as Hussein.
Both Kemboi and Hussein were out of the station at the time the Star visited. Kemboi said he would be available on Wednesday to follow up on the matter. The van also misses a radio system and a speaker.
