UPDATE:
8 deaths have been confirmed with 70 others injured and undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the city.
According to Nairobi Police County Commander, Benson Kibue, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the blasts. One of the suspects was reportedly nabbed by the public while the other was arrested by police.
The public has been asked to maintain vigilance as Kenyatta National Hospital appeals for blood donations to assist victims of the blast.
MAIN STORY:At least four people were killed in Gikomba market, Nairobi after two explosions went of within the market area. The incident which occurred on Friday afternoon, left several others injured as emergency and security personnel rushed to container the situation.
One of the explosives is said to have gone off inside a 14 seater matatu while the second explosion occurred inside the market.
Several people have been injured in the attacks as police and emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene.
This is the latest in a series of explosions which have targeted various places in and outside the capital.
Similar incidences were reported in the past with matatus being chief targets.
