Dr Evans Kidero on Thursday lost the position of vice chairman of the Council of Governors. He was forced to bow out after failing to get seconded. Dr Kidero's position has now been taken by little known Salim Mvurya from Kwale County.
Bomet Governor, Isaac Ruto, however retained his position as the Chairman of the Council of Governors after he was unanimously re-elected.
Bungoma Senator Kenneth Lusaka was elected to the Whip’s position switching roles from his former position as a secretary.
In an address to the media, Council of Governors Chairman, Isaac Ruto said the main agenda for their meeting was to conduct the elections. Other activities they are expected to conduct include discussing reports by various committees.
Over 40 governors retreated to a closed door meeting where the elections were held successfully and peacefully.
