At least four suspects have been arrested by police over the twin blasts that blew up two buses on Thika Road, Nairobi. The explosions occurred last Sunday.
After the arrests, Nairobi County police commander Benson Kibue said that the four suspects had been positively identified and were in police custody awaiting formal charges in court. The police commander also emphasized that the police would keep taking stern action against matatu operatives who fail to frisk their passengers before boarding the matatus. He also added that bus owners may also be charged over negligence.
He also condemned the protests staged this morning along the Thika superhighway over arrested drivers saying they were unnecessary saying the police would continue reigning in on matatu operators who did not comply to safety measures.
He was speaking at the Kilimani police station where he received a reconditioned police vehicle from the Lang'ata MP, Joash Olum.
