The Vice Chancellor of Kampala University is the latest to add his voice in support Governor Joho's degree.
Speaking to reporters in Nairobi on Sunday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Badru Kateregga, said that Governor Joho earned the degree legitimately and that the University's Senate could not recall, revoke or cancel the award which it deemed to be authentic.
Prof Badru Kateregga also affirmed that Joho attended the university from 2009 to 2012 graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration degree (Human Resource Management option).
He also questioned the authority of The Uganda National Council for Higher Education which has.doubted the validity of Governor Joho's degree. He said the law did not require them to recognize degrees but rather to accredit programmes.
"The duty of National councils is to accredit programmes, once the programmes have been accredited; the question of degree awarding is the question of university senate,” he said.
