Are they socialites or just expensive prostitutes

The community website, Wikipedia defines a socialite as someone who participates in social activities and spends a significant amount of time entertaining and being entertained at fashionable events attended by others of similar standing.

The Urban dictionary defines a socialite as someone who has money and doesn’t work but instead devoting their life to being socially active.

Socialites are people who dedicate their time working at being popular and use that popularity for a cause. A socialite may attend a fundraiser to attract contributors or attention hence improve the success of such social events for the good of everyone.

In Kenya though, the definition of the word socialite has been read from a completely unknown or self invented dictionary. A dictionary that I suppose defines "Socialite" as "Someone who sleeps around with well known personalities, takes and circulates nude photos of themselves and gets caught up in controversies mainly over sex."  Or rather a simpler and more straightforward definition, an expensive prostitute.

The activities so-called Kenyan socialites engage in are aimed at gaining unnecessary publicity not for what they have done towards a cause or anything constructive to society but because they believe they are sexually appealing and that everyone deserves to know them simply because they have big butts and sleep around with well known musicians and politicians. It could be viewed as advertising their "wares" for willing and able "buyers". It's a simply sexual and prostitution "marketing" if I may call it so.

Attaining the socialite status in Kenya generally take the following predefined steps.

1. Leak some fake story to some mediocre blogger.

2. Implicate well known and influential personalities in scandals, and mainly sex scandals for that matter.

3. Take nude or semi-nude photos and ensure they circulate and polute the entire web.

4. When idle and clueless social media users and bloggers start blabbing about you, pretend to get upset and swear by your butt that you have no idea who leaked the story or pictures.

5. Deny the story, deny the photos. Deny. Deny. Deny.

6.Appear on some crappy TV or radio show and talk about utter nonsense on how you shot into "fame" or notoriety and whatever other bull you can come up with.

7. Stay relevant! Remain in the social scene ensuring that everyone knows about all the fights you have with your lovers, or should I call them sex clients?

7. Pick fights and public verbal exchanges over anything as long as some mediocre blogger will be writing about it and some idle idiot will be commenting on and sharing your nonsense.

So basically, that's the script socialites follow. A few get creative and skip a step or two, others modify and add new methodologies, it gets all dynamic.

In my opinion, this is a desperate attempt to gain the attention of the wealthy in society then sleep with them for a while, con them of their cash, perhaps blackmail them among a horde of other tricks they stuff up their fake butts.
