University lectures have threatened to go on yet another strike starting Tuesday next week, should the government and university administrators fail to release Sh3.8 billion owed to them. The money is part of a collective bargaining agreement between the parties.
If the strike proceeds as scheduled, it will be the second time the dons down their tools barely two months after they protested over the same remuneration differences.
KUSU's Charles Mukhwaya maintained that the strike would take place if the government failed to release their funds by the end of tomorrow. He also added denied receiving any official communication despite the government reporting that they had issued such communication.
