A Nyeri father and his son have been arraigned in court for allegedly defiling his 11-year-old daughter.

Like father like son, the two were charged that on separate dates they allegedly committed the offense at the family home in Mutathi-ini village in Tetu sub-county, Nyeri county between the month of June and July this year.

The court was heard on Thursday how the middle aged man and his 14-year-old son abused the girl many times for two months by forcing themselves on her and touching her indecently.

Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Stanselous Mwangi, told the court that the father forced himself on his daughter severally and also touched her inappropriately by inserting his fingers in her private parts.

The prosecutor told the court that the two were arrested after the daughter informed her aunt of what was happening. He said that the aunt reported the case to the area assistant chief who in turn made a report at the Nyeri Police Station.

The two denied the charges before Nyeri Principal Magistrate Philip Mutua and the father was released on a Sh300,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount.

The son was required to pay a Sh 100,000 bond or be held at the Ruring'u Juvenile Remand Home until the matter is concluded.

The magistrate set the hearing of the case for August 12 this year.
