Patient with Ebola like symptoms isolated at Kenyatta National Hospital

1 Sept 2014

A patient has been isolated at Kenyatta National Hospital after showing signs of Ebola.

Sources say the patient showed signs of fever, high temperature and vomiting which made the medics put him aside  for observation and tests.

KNH Communications manager Simon Ithati however denied the reports of such a patient.

Our source at the hospital said a meeting was held Monday morning between medics at KNH, KEMRI and other ministry of health officials to discuss the hospital's suitable as a centre for testing Ebola. Sources says the meeting agreed that KNH was too crowded to be a suitable place to test for Ebola virus that has so far killed more that 1,500 people in West Africa.

World Health Organisation said at least 20,000 people may be infected with the virus.
