Nairobi Governor, Dr Evans Kidero has said that all vehicles belonging to the Sonko Rescue Team will be impounded adding that the vehicles lacked valid licenses and were not registered.

He also added that Sonko's ambulances had to be listed with the Health ministry and county's health department, and fire engines with the county government.

“The services being offered by the team should be registered so that we know whether they meet the standards provided by the government,” he said while addressing a fundraising ceremony at Dagoretti High School on Friday.

Meanwhile, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Kariuki said Sonko was being pretentious by offering services that should be left to the county government.

Sonko launched his initiative in January to offer various services in Nairobi. Vehicles operated by Sonko's team include a Land Cruiser, Limousine, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a Hammer with services ranging from Ambulances, hearse, breakdown, wedding transport, water, security and emergency response.
