Death toll in Garissa University terror strike hits 147

The death toll in the attack by militants on Garissa University College, on Thursday has risen to147, and the siege has ended, the disaster response agency has reported.

Four gunmen were reported killed and some police officers from the Recce squad injured during the entire operation.

Following the attack, the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett has announced that Garissa, Tana River, Mandera and Wajir counties will be under a dusk to dawn curfew starting tomorrow, Friday to April 16.

At least 79 others were injured during the attack for which Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility.

Most of the students were killed during the morning prayers.
