24 Sept 2015
Several KNUT and KUPPET branch officials sent Cord leader Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka ‘thank you’ messages after the opposition held a rally yesterday in support of teachers demands for better pay.
During the rally, CORD leader Raila Odinga announced an MPesa paybill number which supporters and well-wishers can contribute funds to show solidarity with the teacher’s case.
The monies collected will go into legal costs for the teachers who are still fighting for better wages from the government.
There had been a misinterpretation that the money would go to pay teachers but that has been clarified by the opposition which insists the money is meant to assist KNUT manage the costs of the huge legal bill it has incurred in the numerous cases it has waged against the government.
