Detectives are investigating an attempted burglary at ODM headquarters in Nairobi Monday.
Police confirmed that nothing was reported stolen during the 5am incident in Kilimani.
Officers who analysed the crime scene said the gangsters had fled before breaking into the building, after they were spotted by a watchman.
A party official told the Nation that they beat up the watchman, inflicting head injuries.
He was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital.
Another watchman was tied up by the assailants but managed to free himself and escape.
Four men
He told police that four men jumped over the fence to enter the compound and later fled in a vehicle that had been waiting outside.
Separately, four gangsters raided a home in the city’s Kileleshwa area at 2 am Monday.
They tied up the watchman before entering the residence owned by a Mr Mburu.
Nairobi deputy police boss Moses Ombati said they stole Sh200,000, a TV set, a laptop, jewelry and mobile phones.
“We are talking to the watchman because we suspect he could have been involved,” he said.
With the help of mobile phone service operators, police discovered that the stolen phones were being used in Kawangware, another part of the city.
