Five killed after bus rams saloon car in Bomet

Five people died on Sunday after the saloon car they were traveling in collided with a bus in a grisly accident along the Bomet-Narok highway at around 3 pm.

Four of the victims — a man and three boys — died on the spot while a girl was pronounced dead on arrival at Longisa County Referral Hospital.

The accident which occurred near Longisa Boys Secondary School involved the saloon car which was headed to Narok from Bomet and a Kisii Classic bus headed to Nairobi from Western Kenya region.

According to Bomet Deputy OCPD, Jeffa Mwera, the driver of the bus was said to have been overtaking on a hill before he collided head-on with the saloon vehicle.

The Kenya Red Cross has reported 25 injuries in the accident.
