Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua sacks deputy as rivalry intensifies

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Monday stripped his Deputy Bernard Kiala of the public service,labour and ICT portfolio after sponsored attempts to have him impeached flopped on Friday.

Mutua has given the portfolio to former Agriculture and Co-operative executive Larry Wambua replacing the Deputy Governor who was re-instated on Friday by the Senate.

At the same time, Mutua appointed Boniface Kabaka as his adviser on legal matters and political affairs. Kabaka contested to be Machakos Senator but lost to Johnson Muthama.

Supporting his move to sack the Deputy Governor, Mutua alleged that Kiala had failed to discharge his duties.
