Three mortuary attendants were arraigned in a Machakos court for unlawfully harming the body of a deceased person.

The court heard that on various dates between 8th and 10th March this year, Stephen Ngei, Julius Wambua and Mary Nzilani at Montenzuma Monalisa Funeral home in Machakos jointly harmed the dead body of Naomi Mutono by cutting off her sex organs.

The three pleaded not guilty to the charges before Resident Magistrate Jesse Nyanga and were released on a Sh20,000 bond and a surety of similar amount.

The defense requested to be supplied with scanned copies of the photographs taken and copies of the statements before the case is heard on October 24 this year.
