Waititu to run for Kabete MP seat after Muchai murder

Former Embakasi legislator Ferdinard Waititu will vie for the Kabete constituency by-election seat on Jubilee ticket after he won yesterdays nominations.

Waititu garnered 14,969 votes against his closest challenger Wilson Mburu’s 2,336. Lewis Nguyai former Kabete MP garnered 1,950 votes.

13 candidates, including former Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu,battled it out for the Kabete JAP ticket ahead of the Kabete By Elections.

Senate majority leader Professor Kithure Kindikiu thanked Kabete residents for conducting a peaceful nomination process assuring them that Waititu was will emerge the winner in the forth coming by elections.

The seat fell vacant following the murder of the Kabete Member of Parliament, George Muchai, on February 7 in Nairobi's CBD area.
