Fresh attacks were reported in Lamu just hours after police boasted of having taken into custody a number of suspects allegedly involved in the coastal town massacres.
The attacks were reported at Pandanguo village, where two weeks ago, six people were killed and houses torched.
Reports indicated that Kenya Police Reservists were also robbed of firearms by the armed group that had torched several houses.
There were no immediate reports of casualties from the latest attack that has renewed fear among residents who had earlier on been assured of security by the police.
The attack comes barely hours after Deputy Inspector General Samuel Arachi announced the arrest of two suspects said to be of Somali origin. The two were allegedly arrested at a ranch owned by a local tycoon in Lamu.
Despite the Al Shabaab terror taking responsibility for the attacks and killings, the government has remained adamant in its claim that the attacks were politically instigated and blamed the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC).
The killings in Lamu County started on June 15 when armed men raided Mpeketoni, selectively killing men and torching a number of business premises.
The attackers also raided the local police station in the attack that lasted more than four hours.
