Deputy President William Ruto Cord has accused Cord of recruiting the Mombasa Republican Council and Mungiki to topple the government adding that Ole Lenku acted on intelligence information and could not make such allegations out of ignorance.
Speaking on Citizen TV, Ruto accused Cord of planning to cause chaos and warned against calls for mass action during the Saba Saba rally scheduled for Monday.
Ruto's warning comes amid revelations that the government is on high alert over the July 7 rally spearheaded by opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang'ula. Sources indicate that security organs are not sure about Raila's game plan during the Monday rally and its aftermath, especially if the government remains adamant on his push for national dialogue.
Ruto however, asked Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to provide security during the Saba Saba rally to ensure safety of Kenyans.
