Machakos Deputy Governor office vandalized

21 Aug 2014

Machakos County Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala was on Wednesday shocked when he got to his office only to find it completely empty. This was after the Senate overruled a motion to impeach him.

On arriving at his office around 12pm, the deputy governor found the door broken and all office furniture removed. His secretary was also missing and he could not find anyone to explain to him what had happened.

Kiala condemned the action and called it malicious, primitive and a big mockery. He also wondered why the governor allowed such even after being pardoned by Senate.

A disappointed Kiala however said he had forgiven all those behind his tribulations and that he had left it all to God. He also said he would not take any legal action but would talk to his party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka and other Ukambani leaders to reconcile him with Mr Mutua.

“I was not coming for any more war but to work with thegovernor for the sake of the people of Machakos and reconcile for whatever misunderstanding may have occurred,” said Kiala.

The county secretary Francis Mwaka, however claimed that Kiala's office was under renovation and that they didn't know it could not have been finished before the dust settled down. He denied any intentions to frustrate Kiala but could not tell whether they had allocated him another office.

Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has suggested that Kiala quit the office to rid himself of the frustrations by Mutua's government.

Monday, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, stripped Kiala of all his ministerial responsibilities and accused him of non-performance.

He then appointed Boniface Kabaka to head a new docket he created of legal and strategic advisor to the governor.
