A suspect in the murder of Kabete MP George Muchai accused the police of torturing him for a confession on Friday.
Resident magistrate Miriam Mugure ordered that 20-year-old Simon Gachamba be examined at Kenyatta National Hospital and a report submitted to the court.
The murder case was adjourned following the prosecution's request for more time to carry out investigations.
Gachamba will remain in custody at Muthaiga police station until March 10 when the case will be mentioned.
Police may drop the charges against Gachamba, who was arrested with phones stolen from two women carjacked in Nairobi and their car used by Muchai’s suspected killers.
