Residents of Naivasha today woke up to threats warning the Luo community to leave the area or risk blood shed.
Apparently, they are blaming the Mpeketoni attack on Luos and Raila. By the time of publishing this article, there were reported arrests in relation to the leaflets. However, the government, most conspicuously the Interior Ministry has remained mum on the looming crisis so far.
One of the leaflets read as below:
RAILA
ulitumana Vijana wetu wakikukuyu wauawe Mpeketoni,Mkachoma biashara zao, ukasema watu watie vichwa vyaomaji uwanyoe, sasa wakati umefika kunyolewa kwao umefika, waambie Wahame Nakuru/Naivasha kabla siku haijawadia, tunataka kuona kama damu ya wajaluo haiwezi kumwagika kama vile wakikuyu ilimwagika Mpeketoni.Vita mlitaka na sasa vita mtavipata.Kaeni tayari"
