Four people including one child were killed Thursday morning after a bus they were travelling in lost control and overturned along the Nairobi - Mombasa highway.
Thirty-two other passengers were injured with 24 being treated and released. Eight casualties were however admitted to the Moi Hospital in Voi.
County police commander Richard Bitonga said that the bus, which left Voi for Nairobi at around 7.15 am, was carrying 40 passengers at the time of the accident whose cause is yet to be established.
The bus belonging to Classic SACCO was towed to the Voi police station and police investigations are ongoing.
The accident comes just a few days after two people died in Mwatate when a boda boda they were using was involved in an accident with a Taita Taveta county health department vehicle.
